"Gurode needs to lay off pregame fries" posted by ~Ray

Center Andre Gurode's endorsement deal almost cost the Cowboys. At least that's my theory and I'm sticking with it. Gurode appears in local Wendy's commercials touting the Valley Ranch Chicken Combo with loquacious linemate Flozell Adams. Not sure of the financial terms of their deal but you know the big guys get all the Wendy's grub they can eat. Gurode blamed his series of wild shotgun snaps in the first half on a slippery ball. Well a ball is bound to get a little slick when you’ve got french-fry grease all over your fingers. Gurode declined to confirm or deny that the fry grease caused him to send a couple snaps sailing over Tony Romo's head. Adams didn't seem to be in a joking mood during a brief chat with Cowboys homer Calvin "Lucky" Watkins. "It's not funny out there," Adams said when asked about the bad snaps. "We don't even know what's happened. You're standing there and you hear a whooh and just a whooh and you turn around and go. 'Oh man.' And you just want to hit somebody." Gurode had a horrible game but he gets the benefit.. one bad game all season is fine with me. Everyone will have one. Gawd.. we aren't going to "cut" Roy Williams. And put Davis or Watkins back there? Are you serious? C'mon.. he's not the best but he's not going to lose the season for us. Calm down on Roy. It's up to the coaching staff to put Williams in positions to succceed and limit his opportunities to be exploited in coverage. So you know the only strong safeties in the NFL that excel in pass coverage are Sean Taylor and Ed Reed. Avery210 you're an idiot. Did I ever say put Davis in the game. Hamlin played SS in Seattle and he could play that here. And you could put Watkins at FS. Timothy: You are an idiot as well. Do you know how dumb it sounds when you say we need to take a Defesive Back out of coverage. You can't always do that! Roy is going to have to cover. And when was the last time Roy ever was able to come free on a blitz. He sucks at blitzing. Secondly you have to be able to cover in todays NFL if you are a safety. I don't care if you are the greatests run support Safety in the league if you can't cover you are no good to us!!! Roy needs to be cut NOW!!! I was sitting on the 50yl. 27 rows up and I was definitely bothered by his coverage in spots.. but vastly compensates for those deficiencies by all the other attributes mentioned above.. he is in there because he is our best option and it is not unreasonable to try and minimize his coverage exposures.. he's a strong safety which is a far cry from requiring the coverage abilities of a corner. I agree 100% on Roy but you know what he is untouchable apparently. Would love to see Hamlin and Watkins starting but its never going to happen. corners don't cover TE's. And I don't think our run defense will suffer that much by cutting Roy. Hamlin could be equally as good in the run defense. every blog turns into a Whine About Roy blog. Never in my life have I heard the term cover safety until today. The Cowboys allowed 60 something yards rushing today. Roy is up near the line in run support often. Both safeties will play zone the majority of the time. And my guess is that most people on this site have no idea when a coverage is blown who was responsible. Coverage and pressure go hand in hand. I watched a dline get caved in today and I guess we will blame Roy W for that as well. Guys. While I agree Roy seems to get caught looking silly a lot in coverage. TSMITH is right our D line was blocked most of the game and on plays where D-ware was close campbell he stepped up out of the way. The pressure was really not there consistently this game. This D is designed to give up the pass if pressure is not attained. That is why Phillips D is never going to be the number one D in the league it is designed to make big plays but your gonna have plays made on you. As long as we don't give up the big play I don't have a problem. The Skins only scored 23 and our O should easily score more than that. I also wonder if we were not stacking more to stop the run and taking the chance that Campbell could not beat us.

"One more thought on Tebow" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-29 10:52:06

1. That youth will be served this Heisman season. During 12 hours of channel-flipping Saturday. I heard numerous talking heads proclaim that Tim Tebow “distanced himself” from the other Heisman contenders with his performance Saturday against Florida Atlantic. I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate. Florida’s sophomore quarterback “distanced himself” when his most viable competitor. Oregon’s Dennis Dixon was lost for the season Thursday night against Arizona. Tebow did nothing against the Owls he hadn’t done all year (other than pass for a few more yards than usual) yet for some reason it took until this game for any remaining doubters to finally concede that hey this kid is doing something special. I similarly cringe whenever I hear someone say this year’s Heisman field is “weak.” I assume what they actually mean is. “A lot of the guys that we pegged in the preseason haven’t panned out,” because we’re witnessing some of the most spectacular individual seasons in the history of the sport right now. They just happen to be coming from “non-traditional” Heisman candidates like Tebow whose age seems less a factor with voters than the audacity of his playing for a three-loss aggroup. Saturday. Tebow reached two pretty staggering statistical milestones: He became the first player in I-A history to both rush and throw for 20 touchdowns in a toughen and he broke the SEC single-season record for rushing TDs (20). Think about all the great running backs that have come through that conference — Herschel Walker. Bo Jackson. Shaun Alexander et al. None ever ran for as many scores as Florida’s QB has this season (not to have in mind none also threw for nearly 3,000 yards and another 26 TDs while they were at it). But yeah this is a “weak” field … Of cover. I do not have a Heisman vote or a voice in the proceedings but if I did my vote would go to Chase Daniel of Missouri first and then Todd Reesing of Kansas and after that a relatively unknown player by the label of Rudy Burgess at Arizona State. Daniel has led Mizzou to heights previously unknown in the schedule’s history and an 11-1 preserve. If he plays like he did against Kansas Saturday night they’ll defeat Oklahoma and be in the national title bet. I don’t think it’s a weak field at all. I think the Eastern touch has been pushing Tebow all season long and are determined.

But is it just us or does Simon kind of sound like the street vendor hawking broken lamps in the beginning of I saw them filming outside of Barney's today about the windows. Simon is adorable. Can't act to take some photos of them tonight :)

"Pay Attention!" posted by ~Ray

It seems as if secular reporters be to have a better grasp of the major issue in the upcoming presidential election than do many in evangelical leadership. This bind should answer as a wake-up call for all of us as to the importance of evangelicals voting for the candidate that best embodies our biblical values as opposed to the lesser of two evils. If you are looking for the original article you can read it. Otherwise analyse it out below. (CNN) — “I will never vote for anyone for the president of the United States who supports abortion or gay marriage.” Those were the words spoken to me three years ago by a prominent pastor in the Dallas-Forth Worth area who has led a number of rallies on those two issues. But the Rev. Pat Robertson’s endorsement of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani puts front and bear on the day conservative evangelicals have said we would never see: a possible Republican presidential nominee who has been supportive of gays and abortion rights. On CNN’s “Anderson make 360,” conservative commentator and CNN contributor Bill Bennett and CNN senior political analyst Gloria Borger said they didn’t anticipate the Christian Coalition founder making such an audacious act by backing. But I wasn’t. Why? Because the late Rev. Jerry Falwell signaled such a move was possible during a CNN special I hosted in April called “What Would Jesus Really Do?” When I asked Falwell if there was a litmus test on abortion and homosexuality for the Republican nominee. Falwell said the most important air of the day was national security and he would prefer someone who has undergo in that area rather than a Sunday school teacher. Had Falwell not died it would not have shocked me to see him standing next to Giuliani and speaking of absolving populate of sin encouraging them to adjudge their mistakes and put the greater good of the nation before their principles. Evangelicals cursed and screamed when President Clinton had an affair in the color House but it’s clear they are willing to overlook the past marital failures of Giuliani his fractured relationship with his children and his support for gay and abortion rights when mayor of New York. Those are not the family values they undergo beaten into the nation’s consciousness for nearly 30 years. This isn’t the Rapture when Christians say Jesus ordain go to hide but it is the day of reckoning for conservative evangelicals. Will they abide by their faith and absolute opposition to abortion and homosexuality being first and foremost or change form to the will of the party? For years I undergo maintained that the cerebrate of evangelicals was never really principles of the faith but the Republican Party. By aligning themselves with the GOP they’ve put themselves in this position. And with 25 percent of the party’s locate being evangelicals this is going to create some serious problems. As for a possible third-party candidate as suggested by Tony Perkins president of the Family investigate Council that’s not going to happen. Remember 1992? The assail of attacks from Ross Perot against President George H. W. Bush allowed Clinton to stay above the fray and focus on his agenda. Clinton garnered 43 percent of the vote compared with Bush’s 37.4 percent and Perot’s 18.9 percent. Even a movement of 10 percent could spell doom for Giuliani if he becomes the nominee. Democrats are still mad at Ralph Nader suggesting that his 2.74 percent of the popular vote in 2000 pulled away critical support in some states and led to Bush’s victory. Sure there ordain be some evangelicals who ordain be so adamant that they won’t give Giuliani but the vast majority likely will fall in lie because of what said — that the candidate has assured the American people his choices for judicial appointments will be men and women who share the judicial philosophy of Chief Justice John Roberts. That’s code to the base that Giuliani won’t be a Hillary Clinton. The idea of the senator from New York if she is able to win the presidency appointing federal judges is too much for them to bear. And with conservatives on the cusp of having a majority on the U. S. Supreme Court and the next president likely appointing three justices evangelicals will hold their noses and eat their words. So I guess in the end instead of allowing God to lead them in their choice for the nominee they’ll just commune to the Lord that Giuliani keeps his evince. Very interesting and sad it was awell thought out evaluate and he is alter but also do by. First he is alter that many of the “Evangelical leaders” are more concerned about politics and cater than faith and virtue. They are often moretrue to the GOP than the JC. But he is do by that Robertson is such a study leader for evangelicals. I evaluate most undergo written him off as being a little crazy. And I think his view in the end is a little simplistic. Maybe for Robertson the late Falwell and other evanglelical leaders the end some what confirm the means. They do not want a third celebrate candidate because then they ordain suffer and get someone worse than Guiliani i e. Hilary. Also sometimes when voting one has to vote for the lesser of two evils. So even though one might not desire much about Guiliani one will comfort choose for him above another candidate like Hilary.

"AFA Does Not Want Fries with That" posted by ~Ray

The American Family Association recently took time out from its work against and to open an attack on a series of sleazy TV ads for hamburgers. In to communicate local TV stations to halt the Carl’s Jr./Hardee’s ads however. AFA’s automatic-outrage-generator unfortunately left letter-writers with the option of demanding satisfaction from all media outlets leading one frustrated newspaper editor to pen an editorial titled “.” From the Salem. Oregon Statesman Journal: I haven't taken time to check the commercials but they must be pretty tasteless (no pun intended). … But I digress. My inform is not the commercials; it's the letter-writing race. The generic earn is from the American Family Association web place. It's to be sent to TELEVISION STATIONS; they air commercials newspapers don't. One has to query about the smarts of these earn writers if they don't follow the directions on the Web site if they misspell the Statesman Journal's name and Hardee's label if they send the letters to towns that don't undergo a Hardee's or Carl's Jr. -- and if they participate in a generic letter-writing race which usually gets ignored. From what people have told me the commercials are awful. Still don't expect to see any of these letters in create anywhere in the country. Opinion editors automatically fling generic letters.

Ouch. And there we were expecting a strike on the wrist for England and South Africa but Schalk and Vickery allowed to play in later share A matches.. now we find out that Burger will not play at this year's Rugby World Cup again unless his team reach the semi-finals according to. Whatever happened to stitching up the American guy with a five bet ban and then letting the big boys off? Or as the Cape Argus puts it. Cedric Heymans and Damien Traille staying in the starting 15. Skrela. Dominici and Betsen ordain be in the stands with Freddie Michalak starting at 10 and Lionel Beauxis backing him up as it were. Laporte and Maso stand by their captain subbed off in the Puma bet - "if we were really disappointed with him he wouldn't be in the be 22". The gets its excuses in early as bans illness and injuries add er insult to injury for England. be chairs on the Titanic? Jake White thinks that Jonny in yesterday's squad announcement. At this point evaluate that South Africa will be walking it with 88% believing that it's a Bok win by 8 points or more.. many more. You wouldn't experience that there were any games being played in midweek but anyone who caught the Argentina v Georgia match last night ordain know two things: (1) there are very few easy games this time round and (2) that Murray Mexted doesn't get out of NZ much. The points to an 11-minute break of class carrying the Pumas away from 'plucky underdogs' but it was tight getting the bonus inform: only a last-minute try from Hernandez a pop pass at a suspiciously ruck-like situation put Argentina in the lay they wanted to be in. The pitiful Mexted-Taylor combination behind the mike for UK viewers is also drawing fire: a is pushing the same line we hear every four years when ITV sight rugby only to relegate most of the games to bring 657. comfort on the Pumas: according to the Sydney Morning Herald people in the north are of the World Cup turning into a southern extravaganza. Why? Because the Pumas are *blow* actually quite a good aggroup. Scrumbag is just shocked that an Australian has noticed that Argentina is in the southern hemisphere. QuadNations anyone? Still no? This one is going to get a much bigger airing after the Cup has finished. Three games today and Nigel Melville in is in a bad mood about the USA being expected to play the Tongans four days after playing England. Scrumbag interviewed him in Chicago (get us!) a bring together of weeks back and we're sold - this World Cup is a massive stitch-up against the smaller nations. For a team - no a place - that Murray Mexted has never heard of is this anywhere come bring together? What a shame for the minnows. It's a war of attrition against powerful professional sides with all the resources available while they struggle with a schedule suited for the Battan Death March. The pros? Chasing cut cut? Relaxing on the Marseille beach ala the All Blacks? LET'S GO ARGENTINA! the manifold standards of the citing commissioners are a joke. We will end up having players taking dives to end world cups for other opponents its leaves the feature open for much scandal. What burger did was far less concerning than a empale tackle. Even so he gets penalised almost to the same level? What of Limas high shot cleary aimed at Pretorius HEAD? he wasnt change surface cited!! "Why No Fries with the iPod touch?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-13 18:19:43

After nine months of anticipation. Apple finally released an iPod based on the iPhone form factor and interface. But for reasons unknown. Apple chose to get off one or two essential applications and according to the latest dish the dirt has neutered others. You get the feeling that if Apple bought McDonald’s they would cut the fries from the combo meals. I hope you didn’t want fries with your new iPod comprehend! The iPod touch is a lovely device and I have to out myself as being wrong. I was among those who said Apple wouldn’t release a device desire it within 12 months of the iPhone. Hindsight is a great thing and now I can see why Apple might undergo done so. Certainly there’s a big merchandise for it but the two devices could consume each other. Which at the end of the day matters not to Apple as they still get a sale. And Steve said as much in a recent. However in markets still waiting for the iPhone—such as Europe and Asia—it ordain be interesting to see how the iPod comprehend sells. Personally. I’m having a dilemma over whether to get an iPod touch or wait for the iPhone. And a young woman I spoke to at an electronics retailer said she’d be waiting. I saw one reader comment on a web forum measure week that the iPod touch is a PDA. I suspect though he’s in for a big disappointment. Apple isn’t pushing it that way so it’s hard to know if it really is. In fact. Apple’s demo video didn’t even have in mind iCal or communicate schedule two key apps on a PDA. And rumors undergo it there’ll be —which is upsetting a lot of populate who pre-ordered specifically expecting that feature. But the big thing missing—the fries if you ordain—is email. Its absence is the deciding factor in my not buying an iPod comprehend. For a device that has internet find the lack of an telecommunicate client leaves one speechless. So what if you can do it online through Safari? An offline reader is essential in a portable internet-connected device. Plus using a browser you have to manually analyse your telecommunicate. Also if you have multiple email accounts using a browser really starts getting cumbersome. In my part of the world wireless hotspots are rare so I wouldn’t be able to use the browser or telecommunicate much anyway. But if hotspots were available then I’d be eternally frustrated at having an internet device without telecommunicate. Say that again a couple of times: “an internet device without email.” Have you ever heard of anything stupider? A car without seats? A combo meal without fries? A computer without a mouse? A accommodate without a bathroom? An internet device without telecommunicate? Possibly someone ordain port the iPhone’s telecommunicate client to the iPod comprehend and hopefully that will compel Apple to consider it. Unfortunately this adds to the dilemma. Do I wait for the touch to get an email client? Or just get an iPod classic? And do I then drop about the iPhone? But if the rumor of the inability to enter to the schedule and address book proves adjust the decision is easy. No comprehend. Without those PDA abilities the difference between a comprehend and an iPod classic narrows too much to confirm the touch. The interesting thing is the lack of PDA type functions such as calendar entry and email stops me buying an iPod comprehend in preference to an iPod classic. But the absence of those from the comprehend wouldn’t affect my decision to buy an iPhone. I’d buy an iPhone because it’s a phone with iPod features. But I would undergo bought a touch if it was an iPod with telecommunicate and PDA features. With the comprehend having no compelling features and already owning an iPod albeit sans video. I evaluate I’ll just buy nothing. Steve was happy to appease the angry mob over the price cut; hopefully he’ll appease the rowdy rabble over the lack of telecommunicate and calendar entry. OK that being said. I do agree that the iPod comprehend is a bit of a letdown. I hope Apple comes to their senses and releases a send application. FUNCTIONAL schedule and a few other niceties that the iPhone has. Besides attempting to differentiate the iPhone with the iPod comprehend… it’s mind-boggling to see them purposefully exclude such features. Having no email client and the iCal neutering is a bit disturbing though. How ‘bout the purported missing Bluetooth support (think wireless keyboard and walk option) in the iTouch? I query Apple deliberately omit these features to distinctly separate the iPhone from the iTouch rather than just yankin’ the phone module out. I accept those features are essential if not critical to an internet device that is also wireless. I am not just interested in the video iPod capability + multitouch. I be an iPhone sans phone! So it brings me to your analysis here. The iPod Touch is differentiated by not having a phone and a $100 lower price. How much more can you differentiate the two without affecting their main selling points? Most people evaluate in terms of “How much does it cost me?” to identify product X to Y to Z. How do you think Windows change state the de facto monopoly in desktop no be how Mac OS was/is the superior choice? So my conclusion is that the iPod comprehend will have a full telecommunicate and iCal clients in due measure. Bluetooth is another matter though. If the wireless chip in the iTouch does not give BT then we are out of luck. We can only hope Apple changes its object and ordain use the same Broadcom chip (more costs) in the iPhone. I can forgive Apple for not including a camera and bluetooth. I’ll draw them up to cost saving measures. What isn’t forgivable is removing features like telecommunicate and a proper schedule thus creating an artificial difference between the two. Apple would rather people buy an iPhone but they comfort make far FAR too much money on iPods. They can’t do by the massive bespeak for an iPod comprehend. I’m guessing the iPod comprehend will exceed the iPhone by a 4:1 ratio. bequeath. Apple sells about 500,000 iPhones a month (and it was the open).. they sell about 3,500,000 iPods in that same timeframe. Email with wi-fi only is nearly worthless to most populate. I’ve had a Palm T|X with wi-fi email for a bring together years now and use it about 2 times a year. Because for the most move if I’m come a wi-fi access inform. I’m within 50 feet of a computer which I ordain walk over to in request to analyse my email quickly on a big check and act quickly with a keyboard. There is very little determine in a wi-fi only email device. There is great value in a cellular email device because the times that it’s useful is when you are farther than 75 feet from a computer/wi-fi access point. act out EDGE and you may as well remove email so you won’t get all the support calls complaining that users can’t check their email because they don’t have find to wi-fi and didn’t realize that that wi-fi cram didn’t go with the device. Pretty obvious and Apple must have taking the 12 seconds necessary to bring home the bacon through the logic. Now complain that Apple doesn’t alter a Touch with EDGE and a for AT&T into offering a $10/mo unlimited data plan... that I can agree with because having a separate telecommunicate would let you access the internet over advance while you’re on the telecommunicate. To me the big letdown is storage. You’re complaining about lack of e-mail on an iPod? It’s first and foremost a media player but the thing only holds 16GB if you get the biggest one. That’s a slight improvement over the iPhone.

"Burke/Fries Dominate International Rally New York" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 08:38:11

Seamus Burke/Eddie Fries (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9) totally dominated International Rally New York leading from the first special stage to the last. Their car’s transmission lost fourth accommodate (of five) late in the first day but this made no difference to the outcome. Cyril Kearney/Dominik Jozwiak (Subaru Impreza) claimed back up overall late in the collect comfortably ahead of Enda McCormack/Bernard Farrell (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6). Ill luck dogged U. S. collect Championship leaders Celsus Donnelly/Noel Gallagher (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8). The car’s ignition system gave affect early in the event and the team’s function crew spent most of the distance trying to solve the problem and more importantly get the car to the end for points. They placed eighteenth. Rafal Listopad/Amy Feistel (Volkswagen Golf) walked over the competition in the two-wheel-drive (2WD) category and placed fourth overall even though a go mount failed on the back up day. (The aggroup’s service man strapped the engine in place.) Hampton Bridwell/Josh Katinger (Ford cerebrate SVT in the Production 2WD class) were back up in the 2WD category and the top Production 2WD aggroup. Local favorites Jay Menzo/Andrew Robert (Mazda 323) had been a solid second in the 2WD divide until the transmission suffered damage on a rock and they were forced to care for the car to the finish. The despatch ran 400 miles through the scenic Catskill Mountains of New York State. There were 27 special stages (totaling about 100 miles) half of them on pavement and half on dirt/gravel. "BLT Burger or Goodburger or BRGR" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-05 13:05:32

What's your idea of the perfect burger and where undergo you open its closest incarnation? Everyone tends to spout off their favorite burger places ad nauseum on this board whenever these sorts of questions come up but knowing your preferences (bun onions seasoning thickness etc) and having a basis for comparison ordain give this go a little more coordinate. That said. I'd go with BLT burger if forced to decide between just those 3 especially as an out of town destination... None of them-rather go to Corner Bistro. Stoned Crow. Royale. Burger fit. Molly's. Fanelli's. JG Melon. PJ Clarke's. Waterfront Ale. Rare. Stand. Donovan's (Queens). Spotted Pig or Paul's. If forced to be the above choices then 1. Goodburger 2. BLT bear burger and 3. BRGR try burger joint at the parker meridien hotel just walk into the hotel and ask for it as it's hidden behind a curtain no it's not any more expensive than the other places and and it's truly a joint brgr is terrible i desire goodburger better never tried blt nyc burger affiliate is a brush aside bit better than brgr. Most of the places guttergourmet mentions answer a thicker patty style burger. I'd say Molly's is one of the most overrated burgers in the galaxy. Granted I only visited once but it was atrocious. Improperly cooked and served with make fries. Server was impossible to bring in down and "forgot" to bring us change. There are a lot of Molly's fan boys on this board but I'd advise you to be away. Corner Bistro is good but not great. I think a lot of the people who give it such high praise are conflating the great negociate with great quality. I like JG Melon's burger and the cottage fries. It's a little smaller patty than the places I went over above. rest is routinely slammed for it's bun and it deserves to be. Fanelli's makes a pretty good burger for someone desire me who lives in the neighborhood. I desire it a lot but it's nothing more than a good pub burger. They undergo a major tendency to cook their burggers. If you desire it medium rare you have to ask for it rare and even then you might have to send it approve. Rare choose of straddles the fence between a gourmet burger and something more traditional; there are options in either direction. I evaluate they do a real good job albeit at somewhat high prices (not that there aren't many other places who charge a little too much for their burger). The burgers I've had there undergo always been properly cooked well seasoned and served with quality toppings. However. I don't desire either of their fry options. For a more compact burger (which I'm usually a little more excited about) you undergo a pretty good enumerate. I think this category is where personal preference plays an even stronger role. It's very subjective. That said. I really really desire BLT Burger. It is definitely where I'd recommend going. To my comprehend they are right on the money! But again. I don't like their fries. In fact. I dislike them. Not only do I dislike them but I dislike them extra because the menu advertises handcut fries when in fact they desire ago switched to a coated and seemingly frozen fry. Coated fries.. it's just an atrocity. The saving grace however are the excellent onion rings. Goodburger does a nice job. Similar to Burger fit but without the appeal of being "hidden". Also. Burer fit was on the scene desire before the recent wave of burger places. For those reasons. I favor Burger fit. I desire BRGR exceed than most folks but their prices are hard to consume for what you get. command Bistro is delicious! It deserves it's rep on taste alone (although you can't back up but like the ambiance and juke box as well is you end to eat in). I just don;t understand what the occasional detractors are looking for in a burger. A medium rare Bistro is as good as it gets IMHO - or exceed yet two! this challenge always starts lots of arguments.. lol anyway of the 3 you mentioned i desire BRGR the most followed by BLT. Have not been to goodburger yet. All 3 are very close to me but go to BRGR the most. Excellent burgers and like their version of onion rings called onion hay. A little pricey but worth it. Never had a bad meal at BLR either. Wasnt impressed by Stand. I went to good burger today and was very disappointed. The burger was ok with all the fixin's but I tried the meat by itself and it was tasteless. Also the fries didn't comprehend potatoy. Plus it's expensive. Not sure why people act on lie for mediocre overpriced burgers. I accept with the sentiment that the beat burger is a matter of personal comprehend. My favorite simple burger is still Corner Bistro. They have a specific flame broiling technique for cooking and the meat is ground to a finer consistency. Due to these two factors I always request the burger there rare as the meat dries out or feels steamed inside at further levels of doneness. J. G. Melon's is probably my next favorite for a simple burger option. I never open burger fit or goodburger to be particularly interesting or memorable. Not bad but just not exciting. For fancier options I do desire Rare. As mentioned above change surface their regular burger is cooked exceptionally well. And if you conclude desire a burger with a twist they undergo a lot to furnish although prices can escalate fast with some of the fancier ingredients. Unlike zEli173. I like some of their fries options as well but in the end the places where I really like fries aren't usually the same as the ones where I desire the burgers. I have only been to BLT Burger once and wasn't overwhelmed but I'll probably go back. Have not been to BRGR at all. move analyse Good Burger to BRGR or BLT. Good Burger is a go above McDonalds. Went to the new one on Broadway and 18th small burger on a regular color bun typical boring fries and greasy onion rings ok so the price is a little less. But BRGR andBLT are far superior it should be called OK Burger instead.

"Sweet Potato Fries" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-29 18:07:23

Does anyone undergo a reccomendation for a great place for Sweet Potato Fries? Preferably in the Northern Virginia area for a decent price? I will also consider venturing into DC and MD if the fries are really worth it! I have a real hankering for the Sweet Potato fries and it seems they are few and far between! Good timing. I had dinner at Chadwick's in Old Town last week and my preserve got his reuben with a side of sweet potato fries. Can't defeat the determine there too! I thought I remembered having them there too but it's been years since I've been to the Dupont one and I know that the menus are (or were) slightly different between the two. Thanks for the modify. They had them at Cafe St. Ex the last measure I was there. Get them with the burger and you'll be beat and happy! Chadwicks does undergo good sweet potato fries. I also had GREAT ones (as an app) at Lightfoot in Leesburg. I've never had a bad meal at Lightfoot and there are so many great choices you might not get to the sweet potato fries. It's a drive but Rub in Baltimore has arouse good sweet potato fries.. plus great corn pudding and complain brisket. if we're recommending Rub (in our neighborhood!) despite the drive we undergo to recommend Miss Shirley's in Roland Park! they serve amazing sweet potato fries in a bevel with mango ketchup and citrus aioli we always go away our brunch there with this. if you be to go the hold on bought route. I've had the Alexia mark (at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's) sweet potato fries and they're tasty. You really should try the Argonaut Bar on H St in DC. It's my command pub and the sweet potato fries rock. They've been written up quite a bit for the sweet potato fries. Just do a explore to construe more. Cheers. Wonder which places do fresh hand cut sweet potato pies.. many though good seem to undergo a freezer in their bear on.

"Fringe Fries" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-24 01:10:37

Food makes some unexpected appearances at the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe. It’s been used to attach with an audience to lecture to an audience and to anguish the artist. Here’s a sampling of the different ways the performing arts cater it up. The Nature Theatre of Oklahoma’s No Dice presented a casual go around on dinner theater conventions by offering audience members sandwiches before the show and during intermission. “Dinner theater is such a fetish in America,” says Slovakian-born director Pavol Liska. Co-director Kelly coat thinks that serving food at the show “creates an instant connection with the audience and puts everyone in the room together so it’s not us vs them.” The school-lunch-style menu included ham and cease (because the actors ham it up and it’s a cheesy performance the directors inform) and peanut butter and jelly (for comfort). Liska and coat found that people are often wary of remove food. “You’re trying to be good to people but they’re suspicious. I’m a stranger handling their food; they don’t experience me.” At measure Wednesday’s performance many partook of the free snacks to bear on themselves through four hours of epically banal yet riveting reenacted phone conversations that did as the program promised severely test the endurance of the audience. Public Eye: Artists for Animals promote a meatless communicate at their Veggie Cabaret. The variety show explores the trials and tribulations of be ing vegetarian in an omnivorous world. The event features Bizarro cartoonist Dan Piraro a vegan convert who often incorporates animal-rights messages into his art. Musical numbers and comedic sketches communicate the problems vegetarians face when ordering in omnivore restaurants and the recent arrival of those ultimate fussy eaters the vegansexuals (who think dating omnivores is morally reprehensible). Cabaret director Lisa Levinson says the intention of such performances is to show the emotional impact of issues desire the environmental effects of factory farming and overfishing. In addition to this food for thought vegan cuisine is served. The extreme opposite of Public Eye’s efforts to back up a considered diet was found in Chad Wanzek’s now completed adorn performance The Man Without Any Will. Over the course of four days Wanzek abandoned his remove ordain and put all decisions in the hands of a Magic 8 Ball as he wandered around Philadelphia. On his first day the roll was kind and led Wanzek to Reading Terminal’s Little Thai Market. He recited the menu to the omniscient globe. When asked about the red flavor chicken the roll replied. “It is certain,” and Wanzek who rarely eats meat chowed drink. Later that day Wanzek ended up at a Center City ice cream obtain where he was directed to order a remove of chocolate strike. “Is that all?” asked the server. “No,” replied the ball and Wanzek was commanded to add a raisin scone and sugar-free Red Bull to his order. On Sunday the roll was less benevolent repeatedly denying Wanzek the opportunity to eat or drink. Permissible activities included climbing a channelise giving away all his money proposing marriage to a stranger (she said yes) and shaking a businessman’s hand in 30th Street Station (he declined). Desperate. Wanzek inhaled a tuna devise during one of his “bodily function breaks.” Twelve miles and eight hours of walking later he open himself exhausted and dehydrated.
